Honoring Change: A Live Morning Altars Installation

  • W.W. Seymour Conservatory 316 South G Street Tacoma, WA, 98405 United States (map)

April 26, 2025 with Day Schildkret

Join us for a rare opportunity to witness internationally renowned earth artist Day Schildkret as he creates a one-of-a-kind, large-scale Morning Altars installation—an ephemeral mandala of nature, art, and ritual.

Using foraged natural materials—rocks, seeds, petals, and leaves gathered from the traditional homelands of the Coast Salish Tribes—Day will transform the landscape into a living story of impermanence, renewal, and remembrance. As the piece slowly returns to the earth, it becomes a meditation on the cycles of life, the beauty found in loss, and the art of letting go.

Come be part of this immersive experience—watch the creation unfold, reflect on your own transitions, and witness how nature’s fleeting beauty can illuminate what is sacred in the here and now.

A Q&A with Day will follow the installation.
